Sunetrarama Temple
Historic chronicles indicate that the temple was completely destroyed during the Portuguese invasion in 1582, with the stones and bricks of the buildings repurposed by the invaders for their offices and churches. Amazing Experience
The standing Buddha Statue and Beddagana Wetland Park, nestled within asanctuary, bordering Diyawanna Lake & the Kotte Archeological Heritage monuments. It demonstrates how a wetland can bepreserved while promoting ecotourism and improved livability in the city. The target area is located within the Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte municipality and is a part of Parliament Lake. While focusing on protecting the wetland habitat as a flood-retention area, the project also supports selecting investments aimed at protecting and landscaping key areas within the target area to improve liveability for local people living in and around the area while providing access to much-needed recreational space.
